Incident #12

Name of Person Reporting Incident:

Anonymous

Location of Incident:

Albany, OR, Gaithersburg, MD

Time/ Date of Incident:

Childhood

Circumstances of Incident:

  • Discrimination based on: gender
  • Event by type: acts of violence by someone you know

Description of the Incident:

Verbal abuse from my father telling me I’m stupid, etc.

What have you thought about since the incident took place?

I don’t want to see or talk to him ever again.

How were you affected by what happened and how?

I don’t trust men and it’s hard for me to determine when a man is being belittling to me verbally because it’s engrained in my brain.

Who else was affected by what happened and how?

My sister gets sad when she’s witnessed him mistreating me verbally or been unable to show up for me as a father. He has also verbally degraded her, my brother and mother.

What do you think needs to be done to make things as right as possible?

Never talk to him again. I’ve told him he was unhealthy and he denied it and didn’t take responsibility.

What do you need for your healing?

Self esteem from within
